Lum

My inspiration is slowly returning and to celebrate the return of my inspiration, i drew this deviation of Lum from Urusei Yatsura, which was a highly popular weekly Japanese comic series. Ive never read the comic but I have seen the movies. I think Urusei Yatsura is fantastic. Lum is my favourite character from the movie. Not sure why though, but she is. She's cute and funny.

Using the picture from [link] as a reference, I made some changes to the image as I was not keen on the original.

Methods
Lineart drawn purely in Photoshop
Background image done by adding some colour then smudging the colours to give a blur effect.
For the skin colour, i used the same colour on separate layers, then to create the right depth of colour for the shadowing, I adjusted the brightness/contrast levels, so her skin would not look orange.

Overall, I am really proud of this deviation and I hope everyone will like it. It has taken my quite a long time to ensure the my lineart is really smooth.
